Derek Evans is a pharmacist who owns a private travel health consultancy. He has worked in community pharmacy in many specialist roles and and management positions. He is currently the chair elect of the professional pharmacy group of the International Society of Travel Medicine and the British Global Travel Health Association. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the first Pharmacist to be awarded Fellowship of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society for travel medicine. In addition he has a Diploma and Membership in Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Recently Derek has been made Clinical adjunct Professor at KGI School of Pharmacy, Los Angeles in Travel Health. Derek has written and been published in several international journals and has presented internationally. His principal areas of interest are post-rabies treatment in primary care; water purification techniques and consultation models in travel health assessments.
